KASABIAN star SERGIO PIZZORNO regrets the way guitarist CHRIS KARLOFF was ditched from the band – confessing he was treated like a spurned lover.

Karloff was axed and replaced by JAY MEHLER last July (06).

Songwriter Pizzorno says, “It was like when you don’t want to go out with your bird anymore. You treat her like s**t”.

Leicester blows its own trumpet as the new empire lands in the new home of lad-rock

Kasabian haven’t exactly been averse to sharing their stages with elder musical statesman in recent months – and before this gig’s even begun, it’s clear tonight is no different. But hang on a minute, the old man shuffling onstage is not Noel Gallagher. In fact, it looks more like Bruce Forsyth – playing the bugle. As the little fella blasts out the ‘Posthorn Gallop’ – the tune played before home games by Kasabian’s beloved Leicester City FC – the throng explode into emphatic testosterone-charged chants of “Who are we? Blue Army!” Y’see, it’s only Leicester’s favourite horn-honking pensioner Henry Shipley.

Kasabian Pizzorno’s quirky mum

Kasabian guitarist Sergio Pizzorno was born in Devon because his mum liked the hospital.
The guitarist, who grew up in Leicester, has revealed his mother specifically drove down to the southern English county to give birth to him, then once she had recuperated drove back home.
Pizzorno said: “It’s a strange one. My mum just liked the hospital so she decided to have me there, then drove back to Leicester.”
