Kasabian Reveal New Album Details, Artwork

English rock band Kasabian has revealed that their next album’s cover is inspired from The Rolling Stones’ album “Their Satanic Majesties Request.” The band’s members dressed up as Napoleon and a priest, among other costumes, for the cover of “West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum.”

In an interview with NME.com, frontman Tom Meighan says, “We wanted to do, like you know the Stones dressed up as wizards, and all that kind of shit. You see these psychedelic bands dressed up as kings and stuff, so that was the take on it.”

The album’s artwork (pictured) sees singer Tom Meighan wearing a jacket that has been seen on French military leader Napoleon Bonaparte.

“Well, it’s the fancy dress in the asylum, we’re sort of getting ready to go to the end-of-year ball,” guitarist Sergio Pizzorno says.

Pizzorno has also revealed earlier that album is “pretty mad journey from start to finish. It’s like going 11 rounds with Rocky Marciano.”

“West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum” is set for release on June 8. It’s preceded by a single, “Fire,” on June 1. Opening with the track “Underdog”, the album includes a duet, on the track West Rider/Silver Bullet, with the actress Rosario Dawson.
