Kasabian to play HMV London 06/08/09 [MOJO Honours List Launch]
THE DAY IS MAY 6. Blimey, that’s next Wednesday! The location: HMV’s flagship music store, 150 Oxford Street. The opportunity: a soon-to-be-legendary confluence of barney-rock’s greatest exponents, as Kasabian (pictured) and The Pretty Things join forces to celebrate the announcement of the 2009 MOJO Honours List shortlists.
The fun starts at 12.30pm, when The Lightning Seeds’ Ian Broudie will turn in a set of familiarly well-crafted pop, to be followed at 1.30pm by the ’60s Most Dangerous Band, the still-extraordinary Pretty Things.
In the evening, expect the dreamy, lady-voiced FX-rock of School Of Seven Bells to plug in at 6pm. Then, at 7pm it’s Leicester maulers Kasabian, stomping and hollering, promising an access of streamlined boogie from their soon-come album, The West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum. The perfect evening of they’re-so-hot-right-now musical treats, free for all-comers.
May 6 is also the day that we announce the shortlists for the Honours List’s votable categories. Pick your favourites from the frontrunners in the Best Album, Best Live Act, Breakthrough Act, Best Compilation and Song Of The Year categories, and you could still win a pair of tickets to the star-studded Honours List ceremony on June 11.
Still a chance to influence those shortlists at mojo4music.com!
