Kasabian Secret Show
To launch new album
Returning Leicester indie giants Kasabian are set to return with their new album ‘West Rider Pauper Asylum’ which they will launch with a secret show.
Lock up your daughters, British rock heroes Kasabian are back. A band who proclaim to stand alongside greats such as Led Zeppelin and The Who, the group are already on their third album and have plenty of surprises in store.
Heading over to the sunny climes of California to work on new material, the band seem to have found themselves re-energised in unfamiliar circumstances. ‘West Rider Pauper Asylum’ could well be their most complete album to date, containing some of the most ambitious material of Kasabian’s career.
Led by Tom Meighan, the band are already on the comeback trail. Kasabian recently headlined BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Swindon, previewing new songs at Britain’s biggest free entry music festival.
The band are set to zoom down to Brighton at the weekend, to perform a special set at The Great Escape. After that Kasabian have arranged a handful of UK headline dates, before heading out on the festival circuit with headline slots arranged for The Eden Sessions and Glastonbury.
Of course, Kasabian are also due to take part in arguably the summer’s biggest live event. Oasis have scheduled a number of stadium dates and have decided to take the Leicester group along for the ride, joining a cast that already contains The Enemy and Twisted Wheel.
Not much has been heard of ‘West Rider Pauper Asylum’ but the album cover has caused no end of debate amongst fans. Featuring the group in vintage clothing, singer Tom Meighan appears as a Napoleonic general while guitarist Serge Pizzorno is a Victoria church minister – looks like Serge drew the short straw!
The secret gig will take place next Wednesday (May 20th) and fans can apply for tickets on the band’s official site.
Kasabian are set to release their new album ‘West Rider Pauper Asylum’ on June 8th.
